Event Planning, Catering and Beverages
- You may use your own caterer, beverage supplier, A/V Firm or event planner. If you would like a vendor recommendation, please contact the events team at the Computer History Museum
- Alcoholic beverages (including, but not limited to, beer, wine, champagne, and liquor) may not be brought into or consumed anywhere on or about the Museum building or property without the prior consent of the Museum.
- The caterer is responsible for cleaning the catering prep areas and removal of trash, debris, and other miscellaneous items.

- All decorations and/or equipment brought into the Museum building shall be promptly removed at the end of the Use Period.
- No nails or tacks shall be driven into any walls, doors, or structural members of the Museum building. No scotch tape or cloth tape may be used. Only paper masking tape may be used with decorations. Any damage to the walls or paint will be repaired at the expense of the Rentee.
- No signs, placards, pictures, advertisements, names, or notices shall be displayed on any part of the outside or inside of the Facilities or anywhere in the Facilities or Museum building without the prior consent of the Museum.
- Window coverings other than those, which may be provided by the Museum, either inside or outside, may only be installed with the Museum's prior consent.
- No explosives or article deemed hazardous because of flammability or deemed hazardous or the like under any applicable environmental law, ordinance or regulation shall be brought into the Museum building.
Outside Vendors
- Before the event, all outside vendors are required to schedule a walk through with the events manager to make arrangements regarding deliveries, power needs, floor plan, loading areas, and pickup times.
- The museum does not have available storage areas, so rental deliveries and pickup must be made the same day as the event unless previously arranged with the events manager. There may be a charge for equipment that is not removed from the museum after the event. The Computer History Museum is not responsible for any materials left behind.
Exhibit Moves
- At this time most of the exhibits are confined to the Visible Storage Artifact Display, allowing large areas of the facility to be themed for your event. Some artifacts, however, may be placed around the venue. We feel that the value of an event experience at the Computer History Museum lies in the integrity of our exhibits. Many of our exhibits are difficult to move or permanently placed. For these reasons, we hesitate to move exhibits. Nothing should be taped, tied, nailed, or otherwise attached to or in front of the exhibits, graphics, walls, floor, or furniture.
Power
- All lighting and sound personnel must notify the events manager of their power needs prior to the event. While we can accommodate most requests, we may ask that you provide a generator. The museum does not provide extension cords or other equipment, and we require that any cables on the floor be safely covered and taped.
Equipment & Furniture Rental
- Renters are welcome to use their own equipment or furniture at their event.
- The Museum has equipment and furniture available at competitive rates.
