Tom Melcher


Tom Melcher is an Internet executive with blue-chip business experience and a deep background in China. He is a graduate of the Harvard Business School and Yale University, has worked at McKinsey and IBM, and was a principal executive at high-profile and successful Silicon Valley start-ups, such as CNET and NetObjects before joining There in 1999 as the CEO.

During his four year tenure, There grew from a 15-person engineering team with a great concept into a high-performing organization with revenues, world-class partnerships, and a breakthrough product.

Melcher has also held executive and consulting positions with QVC Network, daVinci Time & Space, and Time-Life.

Melcher is currently enjoying a sabbatical with his wife and two daughters in Palo Alto, California, before moving with his family to Beijing, China in July 2004.
