Cate Robbins

As the Design_Code_Build Program Coordinator, Cate is involved with all aspects of the educational program. In addition to leading the events, Cate works with local communities and organizations to make the program more accessible to all middle school students throughout the Bay Area. Cate is passionate about all things STEAM related, and she is excited to expose students to new and exciting educational opportunities. Prior to joining the CHM team, Cate was a postdoctoral trainee in the Department of Microbiology and Immunology at the University of North Carolina (UNC). It was during her time at UNC that Cate became increasingly interested in educational outreach opportunities. Cate was involved with various K12 educational initiatives, including North Carolina DNA Day and the Science Research and Education Network (SciREN). She also co-founded a Brain Club at a local charter school. Cate received her undergraduate degree from Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, Virginia, earning a Bachelor of Science degree with a major in Biology and a minor in Chemistry. She went on to receive her Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in Immunology from the University of Kentucky.
