Doug Fairbairn

Doug is the Staff Director, Semiconductor Special Interest Group, at the Computer History Museum. He has served in a number of engineering and executive positions during his 40+ year career in Silicon Valley. After earning an MSEE at Stanford in 1971, he worked at Xerox Palo Alto Research Center. In 1980, he helped found VLSI Technology, where he was Sr. VP in charge of ASICs. In 1990, he became founder and CEO of Redwood Design Automation, which was purchased by Cadence in 1994. Since 1998, Doug has served with a number of companies as a consultant and board member.
