Description:
From 1970 to 1994, the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM) hosted annual computer-to-computer chess tournaments to provide a forum for the exchange of ideas. At the 10th Annual ACM Computer Chess Championship supercomputer-based Chess 4.9 won the tournament, followed closely by custom chess machine Belle. Sargon 2.5, the only microprocessor-based chess program in the tournament, came in an impressive seventh place.
