Description
Max D. Hopper (4 November 1934–25 January 2010) was an American IT (information technology) manager, who served as the CIO of Bank of America, the SVP (IS) of American Airlines (AA) and the chairman of the Sabre Group. This oral history focuses on Hopper’s design and deployment of the Sabre airline reservation system. Sabre revolutionized the travel industry by replacing slow manual methods of making a reservation with a centralized, real-time computer-driven system. Hopper discuses the challenges and opportunities Sabre presented to its creators and users.
