Charles Phipps outlines his lengthy career in the semiconductor industry with stories of some of the key personalities during that period. After stints in the U.S. Army, GE, and Motorola, Charles joined Texas Instruments where he held several key marketing and strategic planning positions for almost thirty years. During that period, the company became one of the leaders in building the semiconductor industry. He discusses TI product and market initiatives; his colleague, Jack Kilby; the Mostek team's 'defection' and life as a venture capitalist after his departure from TI.
