Biographical Notes

Marvin (Marv) B. Rudin attended high school in Los Angeles and received B.S. and M.S. degrees from the California Institute of Technology in Pasadena, California. He joined Fairchild circa 1966 where he led the Linear IC design section reporting to W. Steffe, Manager of the Device Development department with a product focus on improved operational amplifiers and digital to analog conversion devices. He reported to J. Kabell in the same role 1968. Later that year, together with Member of Technical Staff Garth Wilson, he co-founded Precision Monolithics, Inc. in Santa Clara, California, to produce precision linear integrated circuits. PMI attracted top designers including George Erdi from Fairchild and developed a number of popular operational amplifier and data acquisition products before the company was acquired by Analog Devices in 1990. In 2000 he was general manger of consumer electronics company Autel Corporation in Sunnyvale, California (aka Rudin Novations).
