Description

This notebook was used to record personal notes on topics discussed at regular R & D Staff meetings, including policies on pregnancy leave, open engineering positions, product development plans, and status, company financial results, competitive hiring issues, badge wearing. An entry dated 1960-04-18 outlines the three phase Micrologic development strategy together with a fold out chart of the introduction timetable and PR activities. 1960-05-18 has organization chart of all reports directly to Noyce. Loose sheet dated 1961-11-04 is the circuit schematic for a memory cell by R. Norman (may be that used on his U.S. patent 3562721).

Biographical Notes

Based on the technical content, at the time that this notebook was written, Helen Bonfadini was probably a technician, working for R. Norman (assumed from the initials RHM on some of the pages). According to an oral history of Jean Jones interviewed by David Brock (CHF), later she served as Gordon Moore’s secretary.
