Description
Steve Furber and Sophie Wilson were the chief architects of the ARM (Advanced RISC Machines) microprocessor. The ARM processor was one of the very first to include the simplified, high performance architecture known as RISC (Reduced Instruction Set Computer). In this interview, Professor Furber describes his own background and the steps that led him to Acorn Computers and the creation of the ARM processor with Ms. Wilson. He further expands on his reasons for leaving Acorn and the research he is responsible for at the University of Manchester.
