Description
In this oral history, Marshall Cox describes his early life and professional influences that led him to taking a sales management position at the young Fairchild Semiconductor in 1962. While at Fairchild, he took on increasing responsibilities before leaving to join Raytheon in 1968. A year or two later he used venture funding to start Intersil Memories where he built a company focused on static RAMs and EPROMs. After leaving Intersil, he took a break from technology and then came back to found and lead another high tech company, Western Micro Technology, a distributor of electronic parts, mainly for Japanese manufacturers. He has since retired and has taken on a number of investment and Board responsibilities.
