Description

A four color brochure for the UNIVAC 9400 system. The cover features a picture of the 9400, the disc-system, a printer terminal, and a woman standing beside the processor. There is a blurred date stamp on the cover for June, 1968 or 1969. The second page of the brochure has entries for the 9000 series, with a short page obscuring information about the 9400 system. A picture of a woman opening the disc system is on the back of the short page. Page 5 features information about the 9400's "phenomenal power in medium scale." This section lists some of the remote devices that can communicate with the 9400: UNISCOPE 300, DCT-2000, UNIVAC 1004 Card Processor, and the UNIVAC 1005 Data Processing Systems. It's multiprocessing capabilities and expandibility are explained on pages 7 and 8. The center of the brochure folds out to reveal pictures of 9400 processor as a disc/tape system, a disc/tape communications system, a tape system, and a disc system. Suggested uses are given underneath each picture. The subsections "Hardware Facts" and "Software Facts" are included on pages 13 and 14. Throughout the brochure there are several pictures of women and men with the 9400, though few pictures are of them actually using the system. Technical specifications are included.
