Description

Published as a monthly periodical by Wayne Green, the founder of Byte Magazine, this magazine was originally titled "Kilobyte" but premiered as "Kilobaud : the Computer Hobbyist Magazine", the target audience for which were hobbyists. The subtitle changed to "the Small Computer Magazine" with the second issue in February 1977. Title changed to "Kilobaud Microcomputing" in January 1979 (Issue #25) with the emergence of more computing platforms, then to "Microcomputing" in March1982 (Issue #63). The magazine was updated in the June 1984 issue, given a new subtitle "The Practical Journal of Advanced Computing", reaffirming its intent as a practical journal for microcomputer users with a greater technical orientation and emphasis on the practical aspects of microcomputing with a new design and layout.
