Description

Influential newsletter, published monthly or semimonthly, covering the semiconductor and personal computer industries. Early issues focused on semiconductors and electronics; later issues focused on PCs and offered more high-level business analysis than technology coverage. Founded in the 1970s (exact date uncertain) as the "Morgan Stanley Electronics Letter," edited (written) by Benjamin M. Rosen. In 1980 became "The Rosen Electronics Letter." In March 1983 became "RELease 1.0," edited by Esther Dyson. ("REL" stood for "Rosen Electronics Letter." In October 1985, Ziff-Davis acquired the newsletter from Dyson's EDventure Holdings and dropped the uppercase, making the title "Release 1.0.") Collection includes Proceedings of the Rosen Research/Morgan Stanley Semiconductor Forum and the Personal Computer Forum (also known as the Personal Computing Forum or PC Forum).
