The record contains a disk drive with four large platters on a common axle, inside airtight boxes. At the front are two glass portholes through which you can see the platters. At the bottom rear there is a switch panel with two toggle switches and a push button. Above that are three pressure gages. At the rear is a wire-wrapped circuit boards or 14x8 pluggable resistor modules. On the back is a label giving start-up procedures.
