Description

Fulfilling the Computer’s Promise: The History of Informatics 1962-1982 is a comprehensive history of Informatics written by Richard L. Forman under contract to Informatics General Corporation. Informatics was one of the earliest successful software companies. It provided professional services to both government and commercial customers and also developed and sold Mark IV, a report writer and file management program which was the first widely-distributed software product.

Due to the length of the document, it has been separated into 14 pdf files, one for the front pages and one for each of the thirteen chapters. A Table of Contents listing the chapters can be found in the front pages section.
