Description

"HardBall" is a baseball simulation that featured the first incidence of a computer game using full-speech, similar to Sega's "Sports Talk" feature. Al Michaels announced the games. "HardBall!" emulated real baseball game programming by using a perspective where the player was looking over the shoulder of the pitcher. It was additionally said to have been the first 8 megabit sport video game. "HardBall!" along with "Star Control" was one of the first titles that Accolade published under their Ballistic label, under which they published their video game titles. The packaging for the first "HardBall!" featured art by science fiction/fantasy illustrator Boris Vallejo.
