Description

Object consists of two un-mounted dies of one version of the Fairchild Semiconductor Micrologic F (flip-flop) element. The Micrologic F element is a 4-transistor flip flop circuit. It was the first monolithic integrated circuit, and it was produced using the planar process. Size is of the transparent glass-slide mount containing the two 1/8-inch diameter dies. These die were produced with the PN junction isolation technique developed in September 1960 to replace the physical isolation process employed in the first proof of concept devices fabricated in May 1960 (see X4731.2008, Accession #: 102696651).
