"On December 29, 1913, S.C. Allyn joined the National Cash Register organization. Starting in a special section of the Executive Offices, he successively filled the posts of Assistant Comptroller, Comptroller, Treasurer, Executive Vice President and General Manager, President, and Chairman of the Board. He retired from the latter office in 1961 but continues as a Director and Chairman of the Executive Committee.To mark the fiftieth anniversary of his coming to Dayton, Mr. Allyn reviewed the record of those fifty years. The story which follows originally appeared as a series of four articles in the Dayton Journal Herald beginning December 29, 1963."
