Description

The object is part of the IBM 650. The card entry/exit mechanisms are at the top right corner of the machine. There are 14 control buttons along the middle front edge and a plastic badge which says, "IBM read punch." Below the badge is a card opening with punch cards remaining in slot. The right side panel has a handle to pull down the plugboard tray, but is blocked by the surrounding panel. The left side has two small access doors that are opening using a push button latch and pivot on hinges. The back of the card reader is open, revealing all working mechanisms: wires, gears, etc. There is a cloth tag at the back which says "March 1, 1956."
