Description

The unit is an IBM 7616 printer control for the IBM 7030 Stretch computer. The indicator panel is on the front of the unit at the top. It includes several rows of clear indicator lights (e.g., "CLOCK CONTROL"). There are 5 red indicator lights in the bottom row with labels such as "PRINT ERR." To the right of the indicator lights is a vertical column of 5 buttons. One is unlabeled. The rest are labeled " POWER ON," "POWER OFF," "ENABLE," and "TEST." There are access panels on all sides of the unit. There is a counter in a window on the back of the unit on the left side.

A property identification card is affixed on the top of the unit. It is from a GSA auction sale and reads "GENERAL SERVICES ADMINISTRATION - REGION 9 - PROPERTY MANAGEMENT AND DISPOSAL SERVICE." The object is labeled as "Item No.: 9, Sale No.: 71-79, Description: Control Unit Printer, Quantity: 1, Unit: Each, and Bid Opening Date: 2-5-71."
