Broadcom Presents Design_Code_Build is an interactive STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) experience that introduces Bay Area middle school students to the basic concepts of coding and applied mathematics in order to inspire them to pursue STEM in their future education and careers.During each day-long event, students gain hands-on experience as they build and program a Raspberry Pi, design instruction sets to navigate a life-size maze, and investigate historic methods of computer programming. Events are supported by tech professionals who act as role models and mentors, including special keynote speakers, or "rock stars," who kick off each event by sharing their personal stories and experiences. For this Broadcom Presents Design_Code_Build the Computer History Museum welcomes SRI International’s Chief Information Security Officer, Jeff Klaben.
Jeff Klaben is the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) for SRI International, a nonprofit, independent research and innovation center. He is also an Adjunct Professor with Santa Clara University’s College of Engineering. Jeff previously served as a Principal with Neohapsis, IT Group Director at SanDisk, CISO at Life Technologies, Engineering Group Director with Cadence Design Systems, and led Enterprise Architecture and IT Security at Applied Materials. He also led professional services delivery, product management, and start-up incubation at Accenture. He is co-author of The Computer Incident Response Planning Handbook and an inventor on several future U.S. patents.
