Description

This oral history records the contributions of Drs. Bajorek and Thompson, as individuals and leaders, to the advancement of various computer technologies. Thompson led the research effort that resulted in the industry's first inductive film heads. Later, Thompson and Bajorek collaborated in the efforts that resulted in the commercialization of magnetoresistive (MR) heads for use in consumer transaction applications, magnetic tape drives and magnetic hard disk drives, three additional industry firsts. All modern tape and disk drives write and read data with devices based on their innovations.
