Curator Notes

The National Cash Register Company entered electronic business computing with its fully transistorized design, the NCR 304, manufactured for NCR by General Electric in 1957. Twenty-nine of the machines were sold by NCR and four more were used internally at GE. Typical applications were order processing, customer billing, inventory control, actuarial studies, and personnel records. Models such as this were used to show the various options customers could order. [2012-12-20 DSPICER].
