RCA entered the home gaming market with the Studio II console in 1977. The Studio II was the second home gaming console to use ROM-based cartridges, allowing users to quickly change games. It also had several games pre-programmed into the system. Within two short years, the Studio II was discontinued due to poor graphics and strong competition from systems like the Atari VCS.
