Corporate Technical and Information Services (CTIS)
Digital Equipment Corporation (DEC)
Corporate Technical and Information Services was originally known as Technical Planning and Development (TP&D). Its purpose was to provide technical and information support to all DEC departments and business units in order to increase DEC's technical excellence. This included providing technical training, managing a corporate library, publishing Digital Technical Journal, working with the government for funding and industry-friendly policies, and reviewing and monitoring patents and inventions. These folders also contain material related to one of the CTIS programs, the Engineering Interface Program (EIP), which focused on increasing DEC engineering's awareness of customer needs.
