Description

The object is a model of the IBM 1301 disk drive of 1961. This machine featured 2 stacks of 25 24" disks each, and featured self actuating air bearing heads, which did not require compressed air as earlier IBM disk drives did.

The model is a rectangular box. On the front, there are two glass doors over the disk and actuator. On the right side, there is a gray door with the machine label in the upper right corner. The back resembles the reverse of the front.
