Description

The object is a name plate/ patent plate for the IBM 305-A RAMAC process unit. Random Access Method of Accounting and Control [RAMAC] was the first magnetic disk storage device. The 305-A was the prototype version of which 14 units were built.

The plate is black metal with white print. It is laminated in thick clear plastic.
