The serial number is stamped in a white-metal tag (approximately 1 3/8 x 3/8 in.) riveted to the right side of the case, under the pivot of the crank. In the front panel, above the keyboard, there is a "silver" window with a hinged lid and an opening of approximately 1 1/4 x 1 in. There is a wooden paper-roll core for a 2 1/4-inch wide paper roll on the roll hanger at the top and rear of the machine - there is a bit of paper adhering to the core.. A black and red ribbon is installed.. "Dalton, Cincinnati Ohio, U.S.A." is printed in white, with considerable smearing, on the lower front panel. "Dalton, Adding-Calculating Machine, Patented" is printed in white in the center of the back panel.
