Description
Per AGC restorer Mike Stewart (in an email dated 2019-02-12), "serial/part numbers are: 2003950 -- DSKY Assembly; 2003955 -- Main Housing Assembly; 2003947 -- Wirewrap IDM Plate Assembly; 2004705 -- Plate, IDM. It is believed that this DSKY has been partly, if not completely, upgraded from the first revision of the DSKY (2003985 ) to the second (2003950). The DSKY Compatibility Sheet in the LEM PGNCS Manual from AC Electronics has an interesting note that might be related to this. In the S/N correlation chart in the upper right, a couple of CHM's DSKY's close siblings (S/N 16 and 19) have asterisks with the note "(*No longer cover configuration update)". If S/N 17 is also affected, it may have something to do with the unexpected alarm panel." Mike was unable to locate mention of S/N 17 (this AGC DSKY) in any references he reviewed but posited "Since this was a donation from Draper, my guess is that whatever it was used for, it was local to the MIT Instrumentation Lab. The positioning of the manually-added"ALT" label on your DSKY uniquely has makes me wonder if it might have been used in one of their simulators."
