Museum Campaign

The Computer History Museum Campaign is designed to promote growth and long-term financial sustainability while enabling the institution to transition to a fully-operational facility. In full operation, the Museum will greatly enhance and expand many of the programs it offers today including physical and web-based exhibits, educational and public programs, collection acquisition and preservation and historical research.
Fundraising Efforts
To achieve its future vision, the Computer History Museum has embarked upon a $125 million comprehensive campaign to generate support in its
efforts to become a fully-operational facility. The Campaign will provide critical funding for three key areas:
- Annual Fund ($25M) - To provide current operation support and to build an expanding base of contributors to help meet future operational and programmatic needs
- Endowment Fund ($50M) - To generate ongoing support for the Museum’s key programs
- Building/Exhibits Fund ($50M) - to retire the building debt, pay for building and property modifications, and finance the construction of the physical and web-based exhibits
Future Plans
The Museum is currently raising funds to expand its offerings with world-class, 21st century exhibitions derived from its extensive collection.
A major focus is a 25,000 square-foot exhibit entitled "Computer History: The First 2,000 Years" scheduled to open in late 2010. This signature exhibit
will include media and artifact-rich galleries with an in-depth focus on more the 20 major areas of computer history. Also, a web-based Cyber Museum experience
will feature a broad and compelling interpretation of computing history, the Museum’s extensive digital archive and its large warehoused collection of
artifacts.
