Mike joined Alta Partners in January of 2003. He has over 20 years experience working with and founding hardware, software, and semiconductor companies. Most recently, he served as CEO of Eazel, an open source software company whose software now ships with all major Linux distributions. Prior to that, he co-founded and served as CEO of Rendition, a fabless semiconductor company that was acquired by Micron Technology in September 1998. Prior to Rendition, Mike was the founding CEO of Radius, a manufacturer of graphics products which grew from zero to $100 million in 4 years under his leadership. Mike started his technology career in 1982 as the first Software Evangelist for the Apple Macintosh project. He holds an AB in Economics from Stanford University and an MBA from Harvard Business School
