| Gordon Moore is co-founder and Chairman of Intel Corporation.
He worked with Robert Noyce at Shockley Semiconductor Laboratory,
and the pair eventually founded Fairchild Semiconductor. At fiarchild,
Moore worked closely with Noyce, developing his research interest
in extending the capabilities of transistors. More was able to implement
Noyce's concepts to create "wireless clusters" of transistors,
the basic idea behind the "chip." In 1968, Noyce and Moore
founded Intel Corporation. Moore earned his Ph.D. in chemistry
and physics from Caltech. |
