ABSTRACT OF TALK
For the last 40 years, the semiconductor equipment and materials sector has served as the hidden foundation of the semiconductor industry. The firms in this sector collectively provide the tools and materials that make possible the proliferation of electronic products that we associate with the contemporary digital age.

Through this Joint Symposium, SEMI and the Chemical Heritage Foundation (CHF) hope to begin a conversation that will allow an understanding of the sector’s development since its beginning in the late 1960s and its many contributions to the expansion and globalization of the semiconductor industry.

SEMI-CHF Joint Symposium will center around the theme, Empowering the Silicon Revolution: The Past, Present, and Future of the Semiconductor Equipment and Materials Industry. The event will feature an opening plenary and reception on Tuesday, April 1, followed by a full day of panel discussions on Wednesday, April 2.
