DEC Laboratory Module

Date: 1960 ca.

Accession: 102633142

Description: Laboratory Modules like those shown here were DEC's first product. Modules were basic logical circuits (like AND gates or a flip-flop) contained in a metal box that users interconnected using jumper wires. Laboratory Modules were soon followed by DEC's System Building Blocks, identical electrically, but with a standardized connector system allowing them to be built into larger systems such as computers.
