Museum Services Manager
Jim Somers joined the Computer History Museum in July 2005. As the Volunteer Program Manager, Jim oversees the recruitment and training of volunteers, manages the Museum’s public tour and demonstration programs as well as the Museum’s gift shop.
Born and raised in Southern California, Jim made the trek north to attend UC Santa Cruz, where he graduated with a bachelor's degree in World History and World Religion. After a brief return to Los Angeles, to study film at the University of Southern California, Jim chose to set down permanent roots in Silicon Valley in 1994. After stints as the Community Relations Manager at Aspect Communications and Volunteer Program Director for Sacred Heart Community Service, Jim joined the Museum’s staff.
In his spare time, Jim is an avid reader (history, of course) and a film fan.
