As Senior Archivist Sara Lott is the lead archivist for processing the Museum’s archival collections. Sara also handles all reference requests, as well as requests to use still and moving images in outside publications.

Sara began working at the museum as a contract archivist in 2007. She quickly moved to the permanent position of Software Archivist, then Archivist for Reference and Processing, and eventually her current position.

Sara is a Certified Archivist who has previously worked in historical societies and public libraries. Sara graduated Magna Cum Laude from Truman State University in Kirksville, MO with a bachelor’s degree in Art History and San Jose State University with a master’s degree in Library and Information Science with an emphasis in archival studies. She completed internships at the Ethnographic Museum in Plovdiv, Bulgaria, the Museum of Northern Arizona in Flagstaff, AZ and San Jose State University Library’s Special Collections. Sara is a member of the Society of American Archivists, Society of California Archivists, Phi Eta Sigma National Honor Fraternity and Beta Phi Mu National Library Science Honor Society.
