Head of Digital Chase Consumer & Community Banking JP Morgan Chase & Co.

Dr. Gavin Michael is Head of Digital for Consumer & Community Banking, which includes Digital Customer Experience, Products, Intelligence, Platform, Analytics, Chase Labs and Program Management and works in close partnership with the Digital Technology organization. In collaboration with business leaders across the company, Gavin will drive a digital strategy that offers customers the most personalized, convenient and safest digital experience in the industry.

He reports to Gordon Smith, CEO of Consumer & Community Banking. Gavin is also a member of the Consumer & Community Banking Leadership Team.

Prior to joining Chase, Gavin ran large, complex, global functions and businesses across financial services and consulting. Most recently, he was the Chief Technology Innovation Officer at Accenture where he drove the innovation agenda, technology strategy, and research & development. He also ran the Accenture Technology Labs, where he spearheaded the innovation agenda for the company. In addition, he led the Accenture Global CIO Council, a group of 200 of Accenture’s top clients, and the technology thought leadership program.

Prior to joining Accenture in 2010, Gavin worked in various senior technology roles at Lloyd’s Bank, including Chief Information Officer. In this role, he drove branch technology innovations at the center of their customer experience strategy. He previously held senior roles at National Australia Bank, IBM, 724 Solutions, Lucent Technology and Fujitsu Australia Software Technologies. 

Gavin received his PhD in Computer Science from Australian National University and his undergraduate degree from the University of Western Australia. He is based in New York.
