Grant Saviers

Adaptec

Grant is the retired chairman & CEO of Adaptec, Inc. He joined Adaptec as a chief operating officer, and president in 1992, becoming CEO in 1995 and chairman in 1997. Subsequent to Adaptec he has been a director and angel investor in several startups.

He was with Digital Equipment Corporation from 1968 to 1992, where he built the Storage Systems organization and finally as vice president of PC Systems and Peripherals. Grant is a volunteer member of the IBM 1401 restoration team at the Museum.

Saviers served on several public company Boards, including Analog Devices from 1997 to 2015. In the non-profit sector, Saviers has served on the advisory boards of the College of Engineering at the UC Berkeley, the Leavey School of Business at Santa Clara University, and the Case School of Engineering Visiting Committee.

He earned his B.S. and M.S. in engineering (computing) from Case Tech/CaseWestern Reserve University, and attended the Advanced Management Program at Harvard Business School.

After 20 years in Silicon Valley, Grant now resides in Seattle, WA. He is active in Amateur Radio including “DXpeditions” to activate stations in remote parts of the world.
