Interdata, Inc.

Interdata got its start in 1966 as one of many companies attempting to produce minicomputers to compete with offerings from Digital Equipment Corporation (DEC). The products were generally well regarded and often found in universities and laboratories as well as small business firms.

An Interdata 8/32 was the first non-DEC machine to have the operating system UNIX ported to it. Through a complex series of mergers, Interdata has joined with parts of Perkin-Elmer Corporation and Harris Computer to form the Concurrent Computer Corporation.
