H. Berry Cash began his professional career at Texas Instruments (TI) in 1964, after completing three years in the Air Force, a BS in electrical engineering from Texas A&M, and an MBA from Western Michigan. While at TI, he met L. J. Sevin, Louay E. Sharif and Robert Palmer with whom, in 1969, he co-founded Mostek Corporation, where he was Vice President of Marketing until the company was sold to United Technologies in 1981. Mostek was instrumental in founding the DRAM market and became the early leader of it. Mostek also is credited with the development of ion implantation, a major innovation in semiconductor manufacturing.After leaving Mostek, Berry was a consultant to both Apple Computer on the original Macintosh project and to InteCom on its sales and distribution channels. In 1981, he founded ProNet, a paging service company. Then, in 1983, he became a venture capitalist at Berry Cash Southwest Partnership. Eventually, in 1985 that partnership was combined with the venture capital firm, InterWest Partners, based in Menlo Park, California. Mr. Cash also served on the boards of directors of several private and public companies over the years.
