The computer was the Whirlwind, the prototype for the SAGE air defense system. Thompson, now 58, is a senior analyst at Unisys in Culver City, CA. 'Computers changed my whole life,' he says. The Whirlwind is the centerpience of the second milestone in the exhibit, "People and Computers: Milestones of a Revolution," opening June 29, 1991, at The Computer Museum, Boston."
