Description

Black and white. Herman Hollerith's tabulator, ca. late 1880s. Caption description: "Picture here is a full scale model of a Hollerith Tabulator designed and built for the Computer Museum by Doctor Robert Guatelli, a model maker in New York. This is a punch-card computing device invented by Herman Hollerith to tabulagte the 1890 United States Census. It cut census calculating time from seven to three years." Written on verso side in pencil is "#77" and "P83.22". Written on white label affixed to verso side is "(c) The Computer Museum History Center Contact us for reproduction rights."
