Description

The HP 9807A Integral PC is a portable UNIX workstation computer system. The system is described at the Hewlett Packard Computer Museum website as follows:

The HP 9807 was designed to be transportable, but ran on AC power only. The Integral used an electroluminescent screen (orange) instead of a Cathode Ray Tube. The Integral came standard with 512KB RAM, expandable to 2.5 MB. It included a 3.5 inch double sided, double density floppy drive (DS/DD) and a built-in ThinkJet printer that used fanfold. Located on the back of the Integral are two expansion slots, a Hewlett Packard Interface Bus (HP-IB).interface connector and a Read Only Memory (ROM) expansion port. HP-IB was often used to connect to external hard discs. The ROM port is in a compartment with a platic cover. On the lower front of the Integral are two Hewlett Packard Human Interface Loop (HP-HIL) connectors, one for the keyboard and one for a mouse.

On the top of the case are two mechanical slide latches. Pushing them toward the outside of the case locks the keyboard in place. Pushing them toward the center of the case, unlocks the keyboard allowing it to be removed from the Integrals case and placed on the desktop.
