Description

This is a black and white image print of eight electronic vacuum tubes attached to a series of transistors and wires. The background is white with dark shadows created from the equipment. The light source is coming from the top right of image. The image caption states "1953 Pluggable Tube Systems" and "Two ten-digit numbers could be multiplied 2,000 times per second, with refinements in electronic tube manufacturing. The verso of image has "#1390" written in pencil and "NOS-106" written in blue ink near the top edge of the print. There is also stamp stating "PLEASE CREDIT IBM ARCHIVES" in black ink on the right edge of verso of image.
