This is a black and white image of several men wearing suits and ties sitting around a table having a budget meeting. One man is standing and speaking to the group of men. There are two IBM terminals on the desks pointing towards the men sitting down. Written on verso side of image in pencil is "#1417". The attached description sheet states "CALCULATING NEXT YEAR'S PROPERTY TAXES FT. MEYERS, Fla.--Using television-like terminals linked to an IBM computer, Lee County has cut the time required to prepare and approve its fiscal budget from eight weeks to two weeks. Using the terminals, county commission memebers can enter budget changes and have the computer immediately calculate the effect on taxes and instantaneously flash the new budget on the screen. Previously, public budget hearings were held up for days while clerks manually recalculated the busget to determine the impact of changes on the individual taxpayer."
