Still Image

This is a black and white image of J. Presper Eckert and J.W. Schnackel at the Univac Larc unveiling. Mr. Eckert, with his arms folded, is on the right of the image looking at Mr. Schnackel who is standing on the left side of the image. Both men are facing away from the camera. There are four other men on the extreme right of the image with their backs turned away from the camera. Both Mr. Eckert and Mr. Schnackel are wearing suits and ties. Behind them is a row of reel to reel tape machines with the label "UNIVAC" on the reels. The note attached is on Remington Rand Intra Company Communication stationary addressed to "J.P. Eckert" from "Mrs. J.M. Rogers". The note is from "Philadelphia, 8/19/60" and from "Univac Engineering News. Written on the note is "I am enclosing a[n] extra copy of one of the pictures that we 'snapped' of you and Mr. Schnackel at the Larc unveiling. While, frankly, I would love to keep it for my own scrapbook, it seems more honest that I should send it to you. Anyway, I have about five pictures of you covering the walls of this all-female office, so why be greedy. My sincere thanks to my most photogenic subject. (Mrs.) J.M. Rogers". Her signature is above her name in blue ink. Written in pencil on small white round label on original protective sleeve is "1252".
