Description
As IBM established the initial 8 inch flexible disk drive standard, first with a specialized FDD used with mainframe computers, then with an FDD for personal computers, independent manufacturers such as Shugart Associates actively developed their own FDD models. Panel members were instrumental in establishing the industry standard for the 8 inch FDD market and in establishing sales leadership for their company.
