Historically important newsletter/magazine for programmers, through multiple ownership transitions. It ceased publication in Feb 2009 with issue #417. Original title from Jan. 1976 was "Dr. Dobb's Journal of Computer Calisthenics & Orthodontia" (although a second cover on page 3 bore the title "Dr. Dobb's Journal of Tiny BASIC Calisthenics & Orthodontia"). Title shortened to "Dr. Dobb's Journal" in July 1981; lengthed to "Dr. Dobb's Journal of Software Tools" in Jan. 1986; shortened again to "Dr. Dobb's Journal" in Feb. 1989; lengthened again to "Dr. Dobb's Journal : the World of Software Development" in June 2006.
Musuem has most issues, including the rare premiere issue (Jan 1976); a few special issues, listed in separate records; and two bound editions: "Dr. Dobb's Journal of Computer Calisthenics and Orthodontia," Vol. 1, #1 (1976) - Vol. 6, #62 (1981), and "Dr. Dobb's Journal : Software Tools," Vol. 11, #111 (1986) - Vol. 12, #134 (1987). Issues are from lots #X4578.2008, X3451.2006, X6408.2012, & X6422.2012.
