Description

This Input/Output (I/O) board was used to connect the Vectra PC to serial printer and serial plotters such as the HP 2225D Thinkj Jet, the HP 2686A Laser Jet and the HP 7470A Plotter.

It is an HP 24541A Dual Serial Interface I/O board for the Hewlett Packard Vectra Personal Computer family. Each of the serial interfaces is implement using a National Semiconductor NS16450N Universal Asynchronous Receiver-Transmitter (UART). There are two serial connectors on the back edge of the board, a 9 pin DB9 and a 25 pin DB25. The DB9 is serial port 2 which is referenced in Vectra software as COM2, hexidecimal address 2F8,interrupt request 3. The DB25 is serial port 1 which is referenced in Vectra software as COM1, hexidecimal address 3F8,interrupt request 4. There is a set of 4 jumper blocks that allow reconfiguring the serial ports address and interrupt request.

Etched on board is "DUAL SERIAL".
